I'm addicted to Event Planning!

I've been asked so many times, why I love event planning? It's time consuming, so many changes, client demands and tiny details that most people don't even realize. To me, event planning is a challenge and I’m not a girl to ever walk away from a challenge! Event planning allows me to be creative, laser focused, wheels a-rollin' and free. A bonus is when my event gives back to the community. I find such great joy in helping clients create the best Gala and fundraiser possible.

Upon moving to San Diego in 94’, I had the amazing opportunity to work for Callaway Golf Inc. as the in-house Special Events and Travel Director. My career traveled me around the world and exposed me to all types of events, social, business, conferences, parties, tradeshows and so much more. Planning for over 20,000 guests to a VIP Experience for a party of 2 was an intense and fantastic experience and I would do it all over again.

Every year I fall more and more in love with my career. Every client is unique, every venue and vision is different and every moment makes magic happen. With a background in Marketing and Branding too, I’m able to offer my clients many more view points on their particular event/meeting.

EVENTS CREATE MEMORIES (good ones, crazy ones & yep that just happened ones!)

Planning events is an art form, and you have to be able to understand the goal of the client, take that vision and transform it into something real. It is even more challenging when your client doesn't have a clear idea but just knows that they want 500 people to attend and have a thrilling, mind-blowing time… I accept the mind-blowing challenge with a smile.

EVENT PLANNING REQUIRES "SURGEON-LIKE" ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS

Plan and plan again. No detail gets skipped. You must think it through, walk the entire event as a guest/client from driving there, to walking in, what do they see, what do they smell, how will the food taste and ultimately how will they feel after they leave?

EVENTS CAN CREATE STRONG BONDS & NEW FRIENDS FOR LIFE

This career allows me access to so many types of people, organizations, businesses and new friendships. Some of those friendships are still with me today... how lucky is that!

EVENT PLANNING MEANS = THINK LIKE A KID! EXPAND YOUR MIND & USE YOUR IMAGINATION

The clients job is to ask me for a specific result by creating an event. My job is to take that request and (poof) make it a reality. They might want to thank their clients and have them leave feeling loved and appreciated, or maybe they want an event that sells something, but don't make it look like we are selling anything (ponder-ponder). Bringing a clients vision to life is an amazing feeling and doing it under budget is also a win-win for all. I love to find ways to save money on the dream event. Thinking outside the box to create events comes from trial and error and life experiences.

You gotta love late nights, long days, moving furniture and more. And... you gotta love good eats, great beverages, laughter, priceless photos, endless memories - BEING A PARTY GIRL AT HEART - I just wear sensible shoes on event day!!!
